Charles Blanchard has been the Youth Pastor at Hessmer Baptist Church since August of 2014. Charles is a student at Louisiana State University of Alexandria where he is currently working on his Bachelor of Arts in History. Charles is also a short-term missionary and has been on multiple mission trips, both foreign and domestic. Upon graduating from Louisiana State University of Alexandria, Charles plans to attend New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary to pursue a Master of Divinity in Missions.
Charles, who grew up attending Hessmer Baptist Church, gave his life to Christ at a church camp at Acadian Baptist Center in Eunice, Louisiana. After graduating high school, Charles worked alongside volunteers in the church’s youth ministry before eventually becoming the youth leader. In 2010 Charles became the interim Youth Pastor at Life Point Community Church in Mansura, Louisiana. Charles stayed at LifePoint for one year where he was involved in sharing the Gospel with the teenagers in Mansura. Then, in 2011, Charles returned to Hessmer Baptist Church to work with the youth group. In July of 2014, Charles accepted the position as Hessmer Baptist Church’s Youth Pastor.
Charles’s passion as a Youth Pastor is to reach out to the teenagers in Hessmer so that Christ can have an impact on their lives. He believes a Youth Pastor should give teenagers spiritual guidance while building relationships with each teenager. Charles wants the youth group to be a safe place where teenagers can come together, have fun, share what is going on in their lives, and hear about Christ’s love.
